Nokia N79 mobile phone
In expanding the range of Nseries has been a turning point. Last year the company has released a Nokia N95, N95 8GB and N82, thereby setting the bar too high. Models do not have direct competitors, even if its value became bestseller. Full year 2008 has been fairly quiet and calm, awaiting the touch version of S60 platform and devices on it. Rated flagship Nseries - N96 - remains so only on paper, the unit enjoys limited popularity, and given the strong advertising campaign. Advertising budgets in crisis have been significantly reduced, in fact Nokia advertises only this model. In line Samsung has a direct competitor for the Nokia N96, it i8510 INNOV8, which, with a comparable or superior to the value of Finnish smartphone on a number of options, pulls attention to himself.

The design
Nokia N79 made in the form of traditional monoblock, but compared to the N82 and N78 reduced size, smooth corners, which in reality provides a tangible advantage that pleasure lies in the hand. Compared with the Samsung i7110 unit of Nokia is more good , the difference in thickness is minimal and virtually invisible, while the width and height advantage N79 clear. Judging from the standpoint of design, the i7110 is more severe, affecting completely symmetrical design, steel casing with a visible texture of the metal. Steel pleasantly cool hand, there is a reliable vehicle, dear. N79 a simple, full body plastic, lightweight.

Far Cry 2 Hands-On
By now you've likely heard that Far Cry 2 takes place in Africa. After a slew of recent games featuring jungles as their main setting, Ubisoft Montreal felt that jungles were very much a case of "been there, done that." So the developer set out to try Africa, and to really take advantage of all the setting would allow for.As Amancio tells us, the game world was built before the missions were conceived (using an in-house engine described as "amazing"), and thus we're presented with a realistic slice of central Africa. High-ground offers jungles and eventually forests, lower ground is dryer, with parched grasses and bare foliage interspersed with settlements, placed realistically near rivers and streams that lead to sources in the hills.

A mixture of cutting-edge graphics, open-ended gameplay, and sophisticated artificial intelligence made the original Far Cry a hit on the PC. For Far Cry 2, the development team at Ubisoft Montreal is still keeping those essential ingredients-gorgeous, lush environments, tricky AI, and a sandbox mentality-intact while changing up all the surrounding elements, such as the setting, storyline, and characters, to keep things fresh

Mirror's Edge preview
It only takes a few images, earlier this year to arouse the curiosity of players. A surprising choice of colors, a graphic finesse undeniable and futuristic environments but have credible enough to forge a Mirror's Edge an image of Thursday promising. Then came the moment of the first video, with the confirmation of a game with a view to the first person atypical, the possibilities endless gameplay appearances and the overall atmosphere fan. It is in this spirit that I turn to the presentation of the game in a Parisian hotel, where he is unfortunately not a question of play. D'could not take it as a privilege. In truth, this is not… That would forget all the frustration that can be felt before something that looks good, but you can not touch (candy, drugs, Scarlett Johansson …)
supersexy first-person action game
Start with the part of this scenario Mirror's Edge.In these times futuristic, the population lives in peace. Not that people are particularly happy, but at least security is ensured throughout the city, sheltered from pollution.Slight return, people have to leave behind most of their individual liberties. The information is controlled, and the only way to communicate freely is resorting to "runners".Faith is one of them. Kind of Yamakasi futuristic, she uses her body as a medium, browsing environments separating it from its goal thanks to physical possibilities out of the ordinary. The fate of the beautiful east Asian shocked when his sister is trapped, charged with a crime she did not commit. This is where the history of Mirror's Edge, where he will discuss truth, identity and destiny.Do not, however, we expect a development worthy of a Silent Hill for example, the scenario used primarily as a pretext for a game system never seen before.

HP TouchSmart IQ500: the tactile experience
The tactile experience HP
Recently, man-machine interfaces alternatives have the wind in its sails. Nintendo has hit the chronic introducing a joystick gyro, Apple has topped all tenors market mobility with the iPhone touch interface and Microsoft is preparing the ground surface and Windows 7. Yet, when we write these lines, manufacturers argue timidly on the sector environments "desktop". The latest innovation minor, but palpable is that Apple's multitouch trackpad. Yet, if one focuses on the tactile interfaces, it is impossible to deny that all ingredients are already present. The sensitive screens are fully developed, it only remains to adapt the software to use these devices at best. It is precisely this challenge Hewlett Packard has tried to meet with its TouchSmart IQ500 and IQ810. The famous American manufacturer offers a computer all-in-one incorporates a touch overlay type Mediacenter. The system is the point? The gain of ergonomics is the appointment? We invite you to discover the secrets behind the screen of this machine atypical!
What's better than moving to introduce SouchSmart IQ500? The animated menus are dynamic and opportunities deserve glance. To discover the overlay touch in all its glory, we've concocted a test video! This is complemented by a series of chapters that detail the ins and outs of the party touch. You can also find the technical, physical and equipment that accompanies this off standards. Finally, we conclude by offering a comprehensive overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the system. Trimmed to gain a foothold in what may become the interface of the next decade? The only visual and chew the paragraphs that follow ..
Lift the hood of the roaring beast .
You will find nose to nose with a timid kitten! The metaphor should not be difficult to illustrate the surprise that await those who dwell on the technical characteristics of the device. The spacecraft is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5850 running at 2.17 GHz, the graphic is entrusted to a lean GeForce 9300m GS and the whole is equipped with 4 GB of RAM. Clearly, with the exception of memory, we are dealing with a specific configuration that team usually portable machines entry! The camera tape to look at the futuristic eye, but unfortunately you will have to cross on the demanding applications. Exit hence the recent video games and anything that might require a great computing power.

Chipset for Desktop Processor
When it comes to the king of desktop processors, Intel has it all. Core 2 has given Intel the performance crown all to itself, with AMD flapping like a dying fish on the beach. Intel keeps bringing bigger and better products these days, a far cry from four years ago when Pentium 4 was bleeding Intel dry.
Now Intel has the CPU of choice and with that comes support left, right and centre. While Intel has a huge array of chipsets for its own processor, support also comes from another source, that being from the biggest 3D chipset maker, NVIDIA.
While Intel has the best enthusiast chipsets out for the platform, Intel’s integrated graphics platforms simply can’t compete with the likes of NVIDIA’s IGP based setups. This is simply because NVIDIA has all of its 3D chip technology to call on for integration into its chipsets, keeping it ahead of chipzilla.
nForce 730i / GeForce 9300 Up Close
First off, before we get into our test board today, we wanted to give a bit of info on the new features of the GeForce 9300 and 9400 chipsets compared to the previous generation NVIDIA chipsets for the Intel platform.
CPU and Bus Support
The 9x00 series all support the same CPU and bus speeds, where the older GF7 had different speeds for its varying models. Both chipsets support up to 1333MHz FSB along with all current Core 2, Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D processors. So whatever CPU you have, its supported across this family.
Boost in Memory
Compared to the GeForce 7 series chipsets, the 9x00 gives the Intel platform a boost in memory performance. GF7 used only a single channel memory controller, limiting the bandwidth to the CPU. This is extremely detrimental when you also consider that the IGP uses some of this bandwidth when it’s stealing system memory for the graphics card.
The 9x00 series uses a dual channel arrangement and either supports DDR2 or DDR3 memory, depending on the manufacturer as to what they prefer to support. DDR2 is cheaper, however DDR3 offers a higher max bandwidth, especially when using 1333MHz and above modules. One thing is evident, however. If DDR3 is supported, NVIDIA’s own SLI ready memory support is not included; this is a bit of a shame as SLI 2.0 memory allows for clock speeds of up to 2GHz.

MSI P45 Platinum Motherboard
Introduction
A few months back, Intel released the P45 Chipset -- at the time it was considered to be their mainstream offering, playing second fiddle to the X48 Express. With official support of a 1333MHz FSB, PCI-E 2.0, ATI CrossFire, and support for both DDR2 and DDR3 memory, there's a lot of roads to go down with the construction of one of these boards, and MSI went down all of them. MSI fleshed out a complete top-to-bottom assortment of boards, which means that they have a P45 motherboard that suits just about every potential buyer's needs. The P45 Platinum is the top end of their food chain, and we'll be taking a look at it today.
Evolution of P35 Express chipset
As the name suggests the MSI P45 Platinum is based on the new Intel P45 chipset. The P45 chipset, codenamed Eaglelake, is the successor to the P35 chipset, also known as Bearlake. The P45 chipset was developed to support the latest Penryn processors where high FSBs are required.
P35 has a total of 20 lanes of PCI Express Gen 1 with 16 lanes for the main graphics card. Add a second ATi card in CrossFire and it gets a mere four lanes of PCI Express, while adding insult to injury any PCI Express expansion slots on the board are disabled.
In essence, then, P35 is only intended to offer support for a single graphics card, but with P45 the graphics support is far more sensible. You still get 20 lanes of PCI Express but it is Gen 2, with double the bandwidth that operates with 16 lanes for a single graphics card or dual x8 if you're using CrossFire. There are a number of vendors offering X2 graphics cards with two Radeon GPUs on a single graphics card, so it is perfectly possible to install four GPUs in two graphics slots to achieve CrossFire X on the P45 chipset.
This is a useful change, but it's under the surface with the result that the P45 Platinum looks very similar to the P35 Platinum. Indeed, the only discernible visual difference on the P45 Platinum is the Circu-Pipe 2 cooling system, which has been heavily revised from the original Circu-Pipe that we saw on the X38 Diamond and X48 Platinum models.

Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse
In the world of mice found on the one hand, the large majority of noname models come with the PC assemblers and / or sold for a mouthful of bread and across both wholesale mastodons that are Microsoft and Logitech that largely dominate the market as soon as you start looking for a quality product. Microsoft has launched on September 10 last a whole new technology called BLUETRACK which is so far the mouse integrated Explorer and Explorer Mouse Mini Mouse. According to Microsoft, BLUETRACK will revolutionize the world of mice and make us forget the optical sensors and lasers, with its blue LED that works in theory many more surfaces. So we decided to give us one of these mice and check ourselves. The model that we have had is the Microsoft Explorer Mini Mouse, a mouse dedicated to laptops, and it's good because with a laptop you are on the go and you do not always walk with his mouse pad on itself .
Two days after a small Microsoft Hardware evening dedicated to the press, dear factor working decidedly more since the arrival of the lab in 77, delivered a small box in which was therefore a small mouse with blue eyes. Once opened thus discovers on the mouse, its receptor, a leaflet and a CD-ROM on which the Microsoft IntelliPoint 6.3 that will help you configure the various buttons of the Explorer Mini Mouse. At first glance the mouse clearly inspires confidence and exudes good quality workmanship. Plastics are of quality and it is noteworthy that the black coating has a very nice velouté. Viewpoint measurements, the Explorer Mini Mouse is not very great extent since 69.7x97mm. It is far less than some conventional mouse, but a little more than some models reserved for laptops. Result, this Mini Mouse is not so mini size but clearly the advantage of promoting ownership. Despite my great Paluch five mouse buttons were easily accessible but left-handers are certainly a little more difficult because the design of the mouse is not meant to be ambidextrous.

Sony Ericsson G705 mobile phone
Sony Ericsson does not so long divided its product line into several segments. In addition to music devices, camera is not so unique line of G (Generalization WEB). In fact phones in this series should provide comfort when viewing Web pages. The first two apparatus, G700 and G900, a smartphone to UIQ touch screen, big opportunities. Pioneer BDP-LX71 Blu-ray Player
With a suggested retail price of EUR 799 includes the Pioneer BDP-LX71, in view of the current price situation almost on Blu-ray player-upper, in the Pioneer program, but it represents the "golden mean" between the cheapest model BPD-LX51 and the available soon top liner BDP-LX91. In addition, even the design model BDP-LX08 in the program, but also our test captivates through an enormously attractive appearance. Special features are the touch-touch buttons on the front panel. Naturally presents itself to the Blu-ray player also technically at a high level. Besides the now obvious image signal output in 1.080p/24 Hz is a particularly effective video-EQ to the characteristics of the BDP-LX71. Of course, the new HD sound formats as bitstream via the HDMI output will be passed. We are in test of the audio-visual qualities of the elegant players want to convince.

Tom Clancy's EndWar (Xbox 360)
Genre emblematic PC, the game of real-time strategy (STR) to migrate penalty on consoles. It does, over the generations, a handful of titles of its kind, only a few being elected ultimately acceptable quality. The lack of buttons on our good old pads and the lack of palliative to the very precise control the mouse are two main reasons, comfort and accuracy are obviously the two conditions non to a drinking game experience. Ubisoft nevertheless plunges into the breach, offering an alternative as interesting as logical control by voice. With this innovative concept, the publisher will license its favorite attached Tom Clancy EndWar and we pond, which is timely to compete with Red Alert on Xbox 360.
Oh, is the voice-coil
Echoing themes dear to the universe Tom Clancy, EndWar offers a few bright future: in 2020, Russia, the United States and Europe united live as best they can on a planet now free of weapons atomic, a large shield used to prevent any attack situation. But a series of tragic events, planned by the Russian villains, has upset the world order and plunge the Planet Blue in a third world war. The first sudden you are explained in a prologue that you learn the mechanics of the game for a dozen missions fairly simple alternating between the three camps. It will then select one to lead it to victory. Unlike a Red Alert 3 to the staging worked in the second degree and friendly EndWar actually really level stereotypes. The Russians are as infamous bloody raw without any alarms, Americans bougres kind of thinking well and Europeans are turkeys in history. It might have been dreaming best environment to be immersed in this large-scale conflict, especially Ubisoft pushes the envelope noise to make small talk digestible mission briefings for players less patients. The scenario goes back once the war started, each round offering a choice between different missions, against any of your opponents.

Freeraser - Permanently delete any file
Files and folders deleted by accident, then, can be easily recovered, unless it is physically destroyed from the physical medium. An ordinary deleting of files isn't enough! When you wish to delete any sensitive information, like industrial secrets or some unwanted content, you want to be sure that it will be deleted permanently. Sorry to say, there is a plenty of software recovery tools that can restore your deleted items. If you need to destroy any data and eliminate any possibility of its restoration you need a "shredder". This software destroys the data you choose before the deletion, using a complicated procedure of filling the actual content with random data. This special case of removal is supported by the particular application that completely undermine any hint of presence. All this, for now, thanks to a virtual trash that we are to understand: this is Freeraser.
Freeraser is a digital file shredder that enables you to permanently delete sensitive data with multiple overwrites of random data. It offers a simple overwrite (fast) as well as to DoD 5220.22M (slower) and Gutmann (very slow) compatible deletion methods. The program is very easy to use, it adds a new waste bin icon to your desktop, and any file or folder that you drag onto the bin is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Freeraser can function on three levels:
A fast destruction (standard 1-round filling of random data)
A forced destruction (3 rounds of filling according to DoD 5220.22M standard)
An ultimate destruction (35 rounds of filling with data according to Guttman algorithm).
It is obvious that the more powerful destruction is performed, the more rounds it takes and the more time it needs. Users can define the method that they wish to destroy their data with.

Acer Aspire 8930G laptop
Acer Aspire 8930G: Design and finishing
Later design, the Acer Aspire 8930G looks like a drop of water to its predecessors. Especially under the hood that is new as we see later. The finish is very neat and no detail has been left to chance. We also painted the hood and the rounded edges and all is finally relatively late for a screen this size. The Acer logo on the hood is illuminated when the computer is turned on history to score a bit more upscale side of the Aspire 8930G which stands proudly on your desktop. But congestion does not surely inspire you to prevail in a bag even if you can move it at home and even take him for the weekend.
Ergonomics
The keyboard of the Acer Aspire 8930G is no problem with keys that are well sized. All dug very slightly if you press it but quite frankly it is usually the case on all laptops. However, after several weeks with its predecessor, we noticed that the seizure might be missed with a few letters that are often at the door if you do not strong enough on the keys. Logically, given the size of the 8930G, it has a numeric keypad on the right. On the left console touch surely recall some things for fans of Star Trek Deep Space 9. Dubbed Cinedash it can easily control the media player and volume of the computer while giving it a look out.
The touchpad of the Acer Aspire 8930G responds very well to the slightest of finger pressure and a zone of fast is also available. Finally, a fingerprint reader is integrated between the two buttons on the touchpad.

Seagate FreeAgent Go 320GB External Hard Drive
Seagate FreeAgent Go 320 GB
In Seagate, the products are called FreeAgent external storage. Three references to the catalog: the Desk, Xtreme and Go The latter, with evocative names, which we tested, the other two being intended for a more sedentary use.
Features
Getting Started
The first impression which strikes us leaving the FreeAgent Go from its plastic packaging, it is pretty compact! With 1.2 cm thick, it certainly sets the record for our comparative (also an iPhone end ...). The housing has a serious finish, both the assembly and on the quality of materials. Seagate has opted for a brushed metal shell, which not only provides a nice touch but also contributes to the rigidity of the housing and good thermal dissipation of the disk drive. The lower part is covered with a plastic soft, slightly rubberized, confirming the impression of robustness. The art will appreciate the declination in four colors, blue, black, silver and red, and the constellation of lights at the top of the box, fluctuating depending on disk activity. That fans can rest assured of sobriety, the FreeAgent Go is a nightclub itinerant: lighting that filters through fifty small holes is very discreet. In any case, this new generation of FreeAgent Go easily surpasses the former in terms of design and finishing!
The diodes of the FreeAgent Go into full operation
What else?
In fact appreciable Seagate is the guarantee for this model lasts 5 years. Rather, it is reassuring even if the latter is limited. By "limited", it should be understood that the disc is protected, but not what it contains. Do not attempt to obtain any compensation for loss of your data. The same goes for all manufacturers ... In terms of connections, Seagate is in the universal is limited to USB 2.0. We regret that against the supplied cable is too short and not coupled with an additional USB jack for power, as was the case on the old version of Go A process yet very useful: if a USB port the laptop is not enough to power the drive, what can happen, you connect the second prize. Note that Seagate chose NTFS as the file system for its FreeAgent Go So if you have a Mac, you or around you, it would be better to opt for the FreeAgent Go for Mac, formatted in FAT32.

SteelSeries 7G Keyboard
If you're a gamer, what sort of keyboard should you use? For discerning gamers who frequent tournaments, the keyboard is one of the most important. If you're looking for a keyboard with game-specific functions, you'll have to look elsewhere. The $150 7G keyboard from SteelSeries is really rather basic. There are no fancy LCD displays or custom key layouts, no differently shaped keys to place game functions at your fingertips, no macro recording or other fancy software tricks. It's just…a keyboard. Only this keyboard is focused on key action and construction quality.
SteelSeries are a Danish company with a mission to provide high quality accessories to gamers. They has introduced the new 7G Keyboard. At first glance the SteelSeries 7G may just seem like a plain keyboard with a standard layout and lack obvious luxuries. However picking up the 7G allows you to instantly realise there is something different about this one, it weighs a ton and is unbelievably solid.
There's absolutely no doubt in our minds the 7G is the most solidly built keyboard we've used, but the fact remains that pro gaming doesn't involve physical altercation. What, then, does the 7G offer for those seeking a gaming edge? SteelSeries focuses upon the 7G's claims of possessing the best anti-ghosting technology on the market. Whereas many standard keyboards will only recognize six to eight simultaneous keystrokes, the 7G can simultaneously accept commands from every one of its keys.
We can see some utility from this capability in capturing the true extent of player's frustration when smashing the keys after a bitter loss, but in our experience, we're not sure we've ever actually been constricted by the common six-key limits in any of our PC gaming. There are plenty of situations in which two to three commands are used at the same time, but seriously, when was the last time you needed to be simultaneously circle-strafing right (2-keys) while jumping (3-keys) and fully scop'ed(4-keys), while perhaps trying to throw a grenade (5-keys) and crouching (6-keys) at the same time? Keep in mind that you'd actually have to be doing a few extra things on top of all this to actually run into input limits on even basic keyboards.

320 GB External hard Drive
Getting Started
In the family of My Passport Elite represents the top end. Among what distinguishes the entry called Essential, also bundled software, the finish of the product. The My Passport Elite is protected by a plastic shell mate "touch sensitive" as the likes to make Western Digital. Material with a texture reminiscent of the hull below the FreeAgent Go but note that the My Passport is the smallest in the comparison with the model from Seagate. Product Western Digital is a little thicker and heavier but less long.
What else?
Again, the hard drive has a 5 year limited warranty (unlike the Essential, restricted to three years). In terms of connections, same as for the FreeAgent Go USB 2.0 with a short cable and by a second source. The Elite board or a gauge of capacity: a small block of four LEDs located on the portion of the proceeds. It slides to reveal or protect the mini USB connector. When the drive is connected, the LEDs light up according to the disk space used. When the drive is active, the LEDs flash in succession in one direction then the other. Finally, Western Digital provides a cloth pouch to protect the hard drive.
What performance
By default, the My Passport Elite is formatted in FAT32, so as to be compatible with the Mac operating system. We strongly advise you to format it to NTFS if you use Windows. Already, you can copy files larger than 4 GB, something impossible in FAT32. Then you get better performance, especially for copying small files. During our test, which is to copy 609 files from a total size of 10.5 MB (or 17 KB per file), it took 21 seconds for 5 seconds against FAT32 to NTFS for writing! And 6.4 seconds against 2.5 seconds FAT32 to NTFS for reading. However, the results of the My Passport Elite remain slightly below those of Seagate FreeAgent Go, in both synthetic tests and in those applications. Do not over 23.16 MB / s write and 21.87 MB / s reading. The average access time is at about 17 ms.

A/V Receiver with HDMI and Bluetooth
Introduction
Yamaha’s latest entry-level receiver the RX-V665 with 7.2 channel digital home theater receiver is loaded with features and excellent performance. In addition to delivering great sound, it minimizes the cable clutter going to your HDTV.It supports HD audio and video featuring HD audio encoding and 1080p HDMI, with four inputs and one output with video upscaling as well as other features such as Digital ToP-ART, YPAO, Cinema DSP 3D and custom installation features. However the one thing that does leave us a bit concerned is weight.
The fact that this receiver is rated to produce 90 watts per channel into seven channels while weighing in at just 18.7 pounds leads us to wonder about the robustness of its power supply. It has a great history with their A/V receiver product line, with many excellent products in the mid- to entry-level range. The manufacturer included four HDMI inputs, video scaling, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and support for a second zone, for instance, while axing S-video input and outputs.

The RX-V665 has the typical boxy look of an AV receiver, but is a little shorter than most with a 364mm depth. While working as a control hub, Yamaha RX-V665 has 4 HDMI-HDCP inputs, 2 sets of HD capable component inputs, and 4 video inputs with S-Video and composite jacks. It is equipped with 1080p compatible HDMI inputs and all the necessary surround sound decoders including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio and also up scaling analogue video to 1080p.You can enjoy sound in a separate room because the RX-V665 provides Zone 2 audio output.
Furthermore, Zone 2 power amplifier assignability and speaker terminals mean that Zone 2 can be fully independent with its own 2-channel power, while you still enjoy 5-channel sound in the main room. Its LCD display is a bluish white, instead of the orange of previous years', which we preferred as we found a little easier to read from far away.here are dedicated inputs for those accessories, too. You can listen to XM radio over 150 digital channels.Pure Direct is a special receiver mode that causes the signal to bypass all but the most basic audio circuitry, and even turns off the display to prevent any chance of noise interference. It provides the purest possible high-fidelity sound from all sources including HDMI inputs.
