Need XMPP to chat with the steam Friends

Need XMPP to chat with the steam Friends
I think it would be pleasant if you might log on to the steam talk via XMPP instantaneous messaging their acquaintances that way. It would be grand if it were not federated so had to be in the steam network immediate messaging consumer of Steam, other than that's not actually essential - Facebook has not been federated XMPP talk application once more. Primarily, this opens up new chance for developers to make immense apps that incorporate with the Steam network. Going a slight auxiliary, I would be keen on to observe an official application for the Android is possibly some of the uniqueness of the steam community present.

I also like to see this feature to integrate steam Friends Pidgin for instant messaging more cohesive and chat logs. At least, I would like to see some sort of chat functionality Friends log steam, because half the time I'm quite dependent on records / history, whether for the excavation of links or just remember what someone told me . Already a third party program available to do this, but it is more than a bit of a hack and only works half the time.

I do not know why companies are creating their own protocols for nothing. XMPP is very powerful. You can do messaging, video, voice, status and many other things with each customer and almost all with their own types of stanzas of specialized client.

Ok, that would be achievable if federate with additional servers. Although they might permit users to log into the chat lacking steam on federate with extra XMPP servers. People could communicate from any device or operating system with their friends in the steam. If that shows the state of play of the users of steam as the state in XMPP, you could see on his mobile that "XYZ" is playing portal 2, and then start Windows to play with him cooperation. Or from a marketing perspective:. All the time you all see the status of devices XYZs game and think "oh XYZs all the time playing this portal 2, this game should be the best game best will go into steam and buy it."

Federated XMPP support in the steam chat allows you to chat with people without Steam account. And, of course, the reverse: people without steam account can add your Steam account their lack of steam friends list. Federated XMPP chat connects several networks to a single network. No need for multiple accounts, you would be able to talk to your Google Talk account with an account of steam. Or a group of talks with other accounts, the accounts of Google talk, target accounts and accounts of steam.

Not sure since I buy CSS, but I read that you not able to run steam and CSS at the comparable occasion pirates. Not certain, but if true, subsequently this option someone could generate a template, working with pirate CSS permit you to chat with consumers of Steam. The best idea would be that the valve is made a light version of steam through the chat and just a couple of things, and some mobile applications for chat. In this way people could talk pirate anyway.

Is simply not possible that the valve (or any other company) to build something as powerful as the integration of XMPP for chat. There are XMPP clients to basically any Smartphone in the world. They are available for any platform out there; there are Web-based clients. There are plenty of libraries to write their own applications based on XMPP. I can even update my website by sending chat messages in XMPP. I guess that would be possible after the game. (Because it works in reverse, of course. You can chat in the game with people playing and not even know what water vapor is.)
