Will you kill Argonians playing as a Dunmer in The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim
I've never been one to go around needlessly murdering innocent NPCs. In fact, I've often criticized other players who have broken quests or ruined their games due to the needless killing of NPCs. IMO; there's really never been a good reason to slaughter NPCs without discretion... until now. As we all know, the Dunmer have been driven from their homeland by a filthy race of lizard people. The Argonians, cowards that they are, chose to attack the Dunmer homeland of Morrowind after it was devastated by a volcanic eruption. My first character, and likely every other Dunmer character I play, will not excuse this aggression. It will be his mission to avenge the Dunmer and kill as many Argonians as possible. Are there any other Dunmer players who are with me on this one? Will you avenge your race and kill Argonians on sight whenever possible?

I have played both as an Argonians and as a Dunmer; they are my two favorite races. This time however, I am playing first as a Nord because I feel it will 'fit' the story line and I haven't played as a human yet in either Oblivion or Morrowind. I kind of see snakeys point though; the Lore itself makes it almost impossible not to play either of these races as adversaries of the other.

Do people seriously do this? Sure, my Dunmer isn't going to like Argonians much, but to kill them on sight? No, he may be an assassin but he's not a psychopath, he does it for money, power, or some other benefit. If someone double-crosses him or bothers the hell out of him, he might scare them, use magic on them or even kill them, but not KOS based on race. He'll be willing to work with Argonians even, though he'd probably not enjoy it much and it would take the Argonians much longer to earn his trust.

To my Nord that would absolutely matter. Not so much to my Dunmer. I play him as a cool, calculating opportunist. He isn't very patriotic or nationalistic really, he looks out for himself and that's it. He does hate Argonians now (now he's got to move to Skyrim for work since his last employers died and he's not particularly fond of the cold), but not enough to kill them indiscriminately. He will take special pleasure in Argonians marks though as long as it doesn't impact his job.

I don't really have any problems with the argonians. The ones you meet in game outside of bandits seem pretty nice and principled. The Hist I do have a problem with. Insanely ancient telepathic trees ruling by mind powers and alterning the locals physically for their own purposes. While it is possible they are theones that made theargonians originallt sentient, I think the argonians should no longer be their effective mindslaves. They remind me of some lovecraftian horrors abd generally just need to be destroyed IMO.
