The service, called Google Me, could land very soon, as relayed by a flight pattern on Digg.com.
Google is determined to tackle all the successes on the web that still elude it. While apparently preparing giant compete against iTunes online music, a new rumor lends to the firm intention to attack Facebook in its terms.
The leak did not come from anyone. This is from Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.com., in a tweet that says "very credible sources" that Google is about to launch a social networking service called Google Me.
This new tentacle from the group could be launched "very soon". Google has obviously refused to comment on this rumor. Moreover, the tweet of Rose was curiously deleted by its author.
The fact remains that Google, despite its strike force, will provide a truly innovative tool to stay ahead of Facebook and its 450 million members. Above all, it will be observed closely in the protection of private data.
Already widely criticized on this issue, including Buzz, Google will have to convince, while Facebook sentence itself to reassure its users.
Remember however that Google does not start with a blank page on social networking service with Orkut that was a real success in Brazil and India.
